Announcing New Insurance Options and Reduced Plan Pricing!

There’s a lot going on in the world of Cerebral. We recently launched our new mobile app for members on the go (find it now on iOS and Android), our team of providers and behavioral therapists is growing larger by the day, and more members than ever are receiving comprehensive, collaborative mental health care on the platform. 

It’s all part of our mission to improve access to high-quality, long-term mental health care. As part of that mission, we’re excited to announce that we will very soon be working with insurance plans to help cover treatment costs! 

Our plans always offer mental health access at an affordable rate for all members, regardless of insurance coverage. But now we can provide insured members with the opportunity for even further savings. 

In the coming days, members may begin using insurance to help cover the costs of Cerebral medication and provider visits (for eligible insurance plans). We’re also introducing the Cerebral Automated Money Back program so you can get no-hassle insurance reimbursement for the cost of your monthly Cerebral plan. And even more good news, we’re lowering the price of monthly membership! 

Here’s a look at the details:

“In-Network” Insurance

California members on qualifying Cigna plans may now use their insurance to pay for medications, provider visits, and therapist visits. We’re reducing the cost of our monthly membership, but if you have in-network insurance, you’ll pay only $29 for any of our plans! 

Please read the “Pricing” section below for more details. This is only for California members with Cigna insurance for now. But, we’re working to add more insurers for this coverage.

The price of your covered services depends on any copays or deductibles you have with your insurance plan. So, please check your insurance plan for details. But with your insurance, you should be paying much less than before! 

Medication Coverage

Members across the country may be able to use insurance to cover medication costs. All other costs, like those for provider visits, remain included in the reduced-price monthly membership. 

You’ll pay for your medications in one of two ways:

• Insurance. Whether you have your medication delivered to your door or pick it up at a pharmacy, you’ll simply be required to pay based on your agreement with your insurer. That means you may need to cover copays or meet medication deductibles. Please check with your insurer for details.
• Self pay. If you aren’t using insurance, you’ll pay for the cost of medications separate from your monthly plan price. The cost will depend on your treatment plan, but our most common medications cost just $10. Rarely, medications will cost more, up to a maximum of $45 (only a few medications).
• Please note that if you have a FSA/HSA, you can use it to cover any Cerebral costs, including medication! 

If you have insurance but we aren’t yet working with that provider, there’s good news! Your insurance could qualify for out-of-network reimbursement for your Cerebral plan. Our new Cerebral Automated Money Back program makes reimbursement easy.

Cerebral Automated Money Back

If you aren’t “in network” but want your insurance to cover visits, there’s good news! The Cerebral Automated Money Back program streamlines out-of-network reimbursement for your Cerebral plan costs.

The Cerebral Automated Money Back program makes it easy to get reimbursed by your insurer for the cost of your monthly plan. Most members can save 30-60% of their subscription cost with this easy out-of-network reimbursement process. 

Just provide us your insurance information in the Account tab of your dashboard, and we’ll submit the claims to your insurer so you don’t have to. If you qualify for reimbursement, your insurer will automatically mail you a check 3-6 weeks after each monthly plan payment. Make sure you schedule and attend all your provider, therapist, and/or care counselor visits to be eligible for any reimbursements! We can only submit for reimbursement for visits that are completed. 

More-Affordable Plans

So, what are the new costs?

Medication & Care Counseling plan:

Subscription cost: $85 per month. The subscription cost includes: 

• ongoing video or phone appointments with your provider
• unlimited care team messaging
• monthly video or phone visits with your Care Counselor 
• the cost of medication delivery
• progress tracking
• mindfulness, stress management, and other behavioral therapy resources to help you feel better faster

In-network subscription cost: $29 per month for eligible California Cigna clients, plus cost of medication, any insurance deductible costs, and a copay per visit. Subscription cost includes: 

• provider visits
• unlimited team messaging (without Care Counselor)
• the cost of medication delivery
• progress tracking
• mindfulness, stress management, and other behavioral therapy resources to help you feel better faster

Medication & Therapy plan:

Subscription cost: $325 per month. The subscription cost includes: 

• ongoing video or phone appointments with your provider
• ongoing weekly video or phone appointments with your therapist
• the cost of medication delivery
• behavioral therapy resources 
• progress tracking
• mindfulness, stress management, and other behavioral therapy resources to help you feel better faster

In-network subscription cost: $29 per month for eligible California Cigna clients, plus cost of medication, any insurance deductible costs, and a copay per visit. The subscription cost includes: 

• ongoing video or phone appointments with your provider
• ongoing weekly phone or video sessions with your therapist
• the cost of medication delivery
• behavioral therapy resources
• progress tracking
• mindfulness, stress management, and other behavioral therapy resources to help you feel better faster

Therapy-only plan:

Subscription cost: $259 per month. The subscription cost includes: 

• weekly phone or video sessions with your therapist
• access to care team messaging 
• mindfulness, stress management, and other behavioral therapy resources to help you feel better faster
• progress tracking

In-network subscription cost: $29 per month for California Cigna clients plus any insurance deductible costs, and a copay per visit. Subscription cost includes: 

• weekly phone or video sessions with your therapist
• access to care team messaging 
• mindfulness, stress management, and other behavioral therapy resources to help you feel better faster
• progress tracking

Please note that care counseling is not included on Medication & Care Counseling plans for Cigna in California. For all others, all out-of-network or cash Medication & Care Counseling plans will still include care counseling.

When does this take effect?

These changes are set to take place in mid January. Your membership price will change at your next regular provider or therapist visit. In the meantime, enter your insurance information into your account page to check your coverage.
