ABOUT Rosa Hwang

Rosa Hwang is a Professional Counselor Intern and holds a master's degree in Counselor Education from the University of Florida. Her interest in pursuing counseling began at her time at New York University studying and researching the psychological impact of immigrant life in America, specifically the Asian American experience. Since then, she has worked in both the public and private sectors of mental health focusing on the spectrum of anxiety and depression. Based on her experiences, she works from a mixture of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) from a feminist lens. Rosa is a strong proponent of the client as the expert in their own life and encourages clients to make small, achievable steps towards a larger goal, whatever that may be. She believes in the intrinsic power of her clients and hopes to continue working with them to find their inner strength. In her free time, Rosa enjoys watching "good" bad movies, obsessing over her dog, and driving with the windows down while blasting 90s French house music on her way to the lake.
